it's just a lot more fun to drive. The difference in regard to responsiveness (with respect to steering and acceleration) is night and day.
Why does your Mazda get such poor mileage? That's in the same range as my not-yet-purchased Hemi Orange 425 hp Dodge Challenger.
Played with a bit, but not seriously.Good move Greg ...the DSG tranny alone is worth the price of admission. Did you try it in manual mode?
Awesome. I hope it works out for you.If my numbers work out this week, I will be trading in the Mazda for a Cooper Clubman.
Thanks. It is an impressive car to drive. It just feels like you have complete control.dude ... just drove Leons GLI today ... that car is just so well put together, solid body, everything feels tight ... great choice.
Comparatively speaking, the Altima feels completely disconnected, especially when it comes to the steering.I can't imagine the Altima being a "drivers" car ... it might have a bit of brute power, but I can tell without even driving it that its steering and general feel probably feels disconnected from the driver and the road.
LOL. Actually, if I fall in love with the VW (e.g. German engineering) and I wanted to step up a bit, I think I might go for a blown out Passat. They're actually really nice. However, even $35K is a price range that the practical side of my brain wants no part of. We really want to retire in our mid 50s. So, expensive cars are just a bad idea. That said, it's just so tempting to go big, when the goal seems so far away. And the fact that so many of my friends piss their money away and encourage similar behavior, doesn't help.next up in 36 months ... Greg buys a bimmer
I don't doubt that. It's just not a luxury I'm willing to pony up for. What about you? BMW in your future?I am telling you ... Bimmer's are the best balance between driving dynamics and comfort/luxury all the way across their product line.
Yeah. That probably makes sense. I believe we're meeting at Gugs' place at 2PM. Feel free to start an e-mail chain.ahh Maiden ... what time are you guys gathering and where are you meeting?
i guess starting the usual roundrobin email is in order.
