Album Concept/Theme:
Russell Allen says; "It is basically just the idea of machines taking over everything and all this technology we put our society into pretty much being our demise. It's a story we were all familiar with, but we put our own spin on it. It's not a linear story in terms of... This is just the theme of the record, so all the songs are in that theme, but they're not connected in any sort of story way — there's no characters of any of that stuff — it's just a theme. Like [Pink Floyd's] 'The Dark Side Of The Moon', it's really just a theme of the dark side of the moon — one song deals with death, the other one deals with time... You know what I mean?! So it's the same kind of thing. I'm not comparing the two albums by any means — don't misunderstand me — but in terms of the idea of a concept, so to speak, the concept is there, but it's not a story record — not like [2002's] 'The Odyssey', where the song 'The Odyssey' is that story."

***Don't forget guys to post if you find something, and I shall update the thread.***

For some reason I couldn't get onto this site for like 20 minutes and I thought they were changing the web design to the new album art and there'd be this huge announcment from Romeo saying all these crazy surprises. I am dissapoint.

The last time I posted non-true Sy-X news was on April fools, and I said Russ left, and was being replaced by Roy Khan....The forum was in an uproar.

I'm only reporting what was posted on the mailing list by someone who was there...

While searching through Youtube, I found a recently uploaded video from their concert tonight. Unfortunately it isn't any of the new songs - just Paradise Lost. But they sound great. Russ is just incredible. Super excited to see them in a few months.

Hopefully the person who filmed this is uploading more! Pretty damn good sound quality on the video - would be awesome to hear those new songs!

according to a comment on the last.fm event, they played Of Sins and Shadows, Domination, Serpent's Kiss, new song (they said it was End of Innocence), paradise lost, inferno, smoke and mirrors, set the world afire, another new song. and they couldnt remember anything else. hoping at least one rare classic gets put in, otherwise it seems very similar to their last 2 tours in the US :(

Yup, End of Innocence, and Dehumanize. I wouldn't take the first stretch of touring to seriously. This is an entirely different tour. If i'm not masking they're only playing for an hour on top of which. The tour in support of the new album actually only starts in April, meaning they will also get a longer time slot.

Nice job proulxski!

Btw, the first quarter of the year is from January to the end of March. The second quarter starts in April. :)

By calendar standards yes, but someone on the forums who has, or does work in the music industry. (or just knows everything I suppose) Mentioned that quarters are broken down differently. Apparently (if I remember correctly) It only started in February... Either or lol. Untill we have an official release date, i'll go with what sir russell allen has said himself.

I debated on going with all those bogus Japaenese Label release dates. But I don't buy them, and don't wanna get peoples hopes up. Unless its official news, I shouldn't really spread the word... It may lead to some heart break lol!

EDIT: But if in the event you're correct, which is highly likely. I apologize for my misunderstanding.

Saw them live tonight for the first time after missing out the last couple of times they toured in Germany. Great gig (albeit short due to the concept of the tour) with lots of new-ish songs and few old songs, just as I prefer. Russ probably knocked up a dozen women in the audience without ever leaving the stage... he's THAT much of a hunk.
