Introduction thread

Hello!!
And I'm sure Turisas are passing again through Spain with Dragonforce early next year....three times in fact so now you have no reason to miss them:p unless you go gallivanting around Ireland again.

As much as I agree with Katie, Cipher has a valid point.

And no I can't call you by your new username because I can't for the life of me remember how to spell it, nor can I find the accent.

...noooo it is because if I were to delete posts that were off-topic, there would be no posts left.

Kinda like if one were to take away all the porn sites off the internet, there'd only be one website left and it'd be called "BRING BACK THE PORN!"

Scrubs, yay?

haha scrubs is ace!

if the message was sent unsolicited and in bulk then the message is spam."[/I]

The key word there is 'usually'......but not always, see other posts in this thread for example

You are confusing common sense with common forum behaviour.

I am anything but common.

unsolicited and in bulk - hmm, somehow i don't think bands appreciate their forums being used by people who blatently haven't heard their music just to promote their own bands, and i do believe posting the exact same "introduction" in every bands forum on UM is classed as in bulk

as for seeing other posts, no other post only says "hi, *name and location* check out my band *band name*" because everyone else actually has an interest in the band whose forum they're on

your band sharing a stage with turisas? geez i hope not!

anything but common? hahaha don't even try and tell me you're trying to be unique, there's a million other people out there with bands trying to "network", but most of them have enough respect to only do it on forums that they a) know and like the band and b) will actually contribute to the forum as a fan, not just to spam

A portion of the post was spam and squabbling over spam, and thus did not belong in a thread whose purpose is to introduce new participants of the forum. It was moved to off-topic.

which will then be unusually followed by us dragging him to a pub to learn how to pole dance ;)

Swiftly followed by myself and Thraxas dragging him off to Digbeth to introduce him to some proper beer...

In fact, I think the pole-dancing should come after the drinking, especially if we get him on the Old Rosie or Wobblejuice*

*Old Rosie is a very, very potent cider at 8.4% and £1.99 a pint, while Wobblejuice is a perry (pear cider) that's almost as strong and only 50p more. Being away with the faeries after a couple of pints of either isn't so much compulsory as inevitable.
