Learning Swedish?

Not really a language learning aid, but more for Swedish lifestyle in general (and it gives a good laugh as well!) My personal first favourite is nr. 8 in the weather section :D

5. You know Swedish guys not necessarily are gay, only their dress code seem to have that effect on Non-Swedes.

7. If you are a Swedish girl, you don’t find the trousers worn by Swedish guys being ridiculously tight but rather find loose fit trousers terribly boring and soooooo unfashionable, unless they are really baggy and attached to a skater or snowboarder.
why do i have a feeling this is seriously true... :Smug::lol:

Lots of languages like me, good for you :). If you need any help with Spanish let me know :) . The good thing about this forum is that we have native speakers of a lot of languages (Dutch, German, Swedish, Italian, Spanish, English and Slovene of course ;) ). If you have any questions just post them here, this was everyone can learn new things :) :) .

a very insane idea has just taken its shape into my mind....
we could make topics for each language we would like to learn where people can ask things, make some practice and be corrected by native speakers.... and where the native speakers can give advices, teach something like basic grammar for example, simple phrases and stuff

why? this thread works perfectly. There seem to be not so many questions about particular languages anyway, and it would be redundant to create a separate thread for every language one might want to learn. I can imagine there wouldn't be that many questions so you would have to go digging up that one particular thread every time because it went down the list... And this thread is being used quite a lot, so it pretty much stays within reach and just more convenient... Besides we all know that it's not only about the Swedish :) perhaps it would be a better idea to just rename it to something like "Languages we're learning" or something like that :p but honestly i really don't care what it's called as i know what we talk about here anyway

Well, I can help both of you when you have any difficulties learning German ;)

edit: damn, wrong thread o_O

^ .

THere will be a course in my uni next term and I really hope I will be able to choose it since I will be having a lot to do... But if I actually will be able to do so, we could start the same time ;)
On gotisch.de there is a quite decent Gothic course in German.

Sorry, but I have only been learning for not even a whole term now...
Something about arubaito and Germany o_O
We haven't learnt a Kanji, yet. ^^'

Awesome! The link you included looks great, vielen vielen dank! Aber I can't find the characters für the Goth characters, wo kann I find them? ;)

Well I'm sure "arubaito" sounds awfully familiar to you, since it comes from German Arbeit. It is a Gairaigo, very interesting :) .

i found this wonderful online translator...
well it is in italian, but you only have to write the word in the search box and click the "ricerca" button.
http://www.woxikon.it/
(well it is avaible also in english and other languages, but the italian screenshot is cooler )

you will have the word translated into 8 languages :D
it is very useful for seeing the similarities between all those languages

example http://www.woxikon.it/swe/svensk.php

Well, what the hell? Does Italian not have a word for porn?

ahahaha no...i've noticed that not all the words are translated in all the languages...probably the site is still in progress.
we have a word for porn and it's really similar: porno or pornografia :)

lol, nice "Denglisch" :D
Du brauchst eine Schriftart, die den Unicode-Bereich für das gotische Alphabet abdeckt. Ich habe eine namens "Skeirs". Die findest du hier.

Yeah, I know. It means "part-time job" ;)
But I don't understand the rest of the sentence, since I don't know any Kanji and not that much vocabulary ^^'
