Chaosphere has a few good songs i will admit but as a whole i voted Dislike. After 10 minutes i become bored and need something with substance. Extremely redundant band that needs to call it quits.

They should never stop touring though, very fun to watch onstage.

my favorite Meshuggah songs are "Future Breed Machine" and "Corridor of Chameleons."

I'm not huge on this band, but I'm not really a fan of that type of sound in metal, so its not fair for me to vote. But, they do have some good tracks and I can appreciate their talent.

The only good song on Chaosphere is "New Millennium Cyanide Christ" Also, the video for it is hilarious- at least they have a sense of humor.

Yeah the sense of humour definitely elevates them in my eyes. It would be way too easy for them to be a bunch of pompous douchebags and hate on everyone for copying them, but they seem to just chill and play what they enjoy playing, which I have respect for.

How can a metalhead not love this fucking song? And I disagree, every song on Chaosphere is great.

And seeing them with Cynic last year was memorable

I have a suspicion that most people that hate Meshuggah simply dismiss them due to that stupid fucking "Math Metal" tag they have gotten...nobody wants to be a fag and listen to Math Metal amirite? I don't see how thrash fans would dislike Contradictions Collapse, and I sure as hell don't see how fans of metal would dislike DEI, Chaossphere and even Obzen? The fact that they are almost mainstream metal at this point doesn't help either I guess

I didn't even need to read the last sentence of your post to know that a sentence along those lines would occur somewhere in your post. You're an idiot.

I could never get into this band and I like some mathy stuff.

well some people (namely idiots) do dislike certain bands based on popularity, I don't think it's that unreasonable. though "YOU JUST HATE THEM CAUSE THEY'RE MAINSTREAM" isn't really much of an argument to make, ha

I can't think of anyone with a legitimate taste in music (let alone someone I'd care to talk to) that thinks along those lines. Even then, I've never met anyone that does that and have only seen it used as a stereotype for the "underground metal fanbase."

well according to you no one has a legitimate taste in music, so yeah

they say stereotypes are based on truth

What makes you say that?

If someone chooses to listen to black metal and only black metal then it's because that is the style they prefer and nothing else appeals to them. I can't imagine any circumstances in which a person would say "oh, I'm going to stop listening to Havohej now because they got too popular." If there are people that actually do this then I have yet to find one.

I dont understand it at all either man.
Basically i have never met a musician (Other than on this forum) who knows of meshuggah and speaks low of them. Sure, some arent metal heads and may not exactly love it, but they always seem to have respect for what meshuggah do. I would never expect everyone to like a band, but i find it hard to believe that so many people just think they are straight up shit.:err:

Not so hard to believe. Btw, I voted that I like them. Seen them twice, they're great!

It's pretty simple. I respect them immensely as musicians, what they do is very difficult. The same applies to Dream Theater. But in both cases, I just don't think it's worth doing.
