Most overrated bands

I personally don't mind CoF or Dimmu Borgir but I do think they're overrated because they keep getting praised as THE black metal bands just because they are the only black metal bands (well I guess CoF isn't really black metal) to hit the mainstream. I find them both pretty good but nothing to get a hardon for.

being accessible and "catchy and hook-laden" seems to be a crime punishable by severe flaming on this site. i do like to be challenged musically but i also like songs that grab me without repeat listens. sometimes straight forward metal is all it takes to feed the fire. it worked for judas priest but as soon as an extreme metal band does it it becomes wrong.
