it took me some long ten minutes to understand this (probably because i was trying to relate "if i was drunk" to the past, following on the "had a fun night" cue). i'm sure in some countries your sentence is illegal, and in others pure genius.

no no, i had noticed that the only problems were really minor. like i said, it was the wording that puzzled me for a second, because i somehow thought "was" could maybe have been replaced by "had been", thus making it sound oddly connected to last night's fun. it's insomnia, anyway. normally i have a better grasp of whatever people want to say.

I would agree with you totally on this, if not the object of my affections were on the other side of the North sea. It is too much "things don't work out" in that.
