Old school death metal

Any fans of Procreation (Can)? I just downloaded the remaster of their two demos called "Incantations of Demonic Lust for Corpses of the Fallen" and its really quite good. Check it out if you haven't already.

Yes indeed. They pretty much embodied underground Canadian Death Metal the way that Witches Hammer and Blasphemy embodied underground Canadian Thrash and Black Metal, respectively. It's too bad they only had such minimal recorded output.

Not really sure if this counts as an Old School release but it does have that old school aura about it. I am talking about Intestine Baalism's first album. Everyone ejaculates over the sophomore effort but I think An Anatomy of the Beast shits all over Banquet in the Darkness which is just too damn cheesy for me most of the time.

Anyone else agree/contest this/wish I would die etc. ?

I like both Intestine Baalism.

I got a buddy into Grotesque today, so much so that he bought the rerelease with Gardens of Grief.

Regarding Convulse-world without god.

"Re-Released by Eternal Darkness Productions in a limited print also containing
the "Resuscitation of Evilness" demotape, a rehearsal from 1990 feat. the
tracks "Godless Truth" and "Powerstruggle of Belief" as well as a live cover of
Venom's "Countess Bathory" taken from the "Live in Pain" bootleg."

I can't find an eternal darkness productions.

That was in 2003, and may have only been a cassette release. They've done a few bootleg releases, so I don't know whether or not that's official, but I know that Eternal Darkness Productions is dead.

I just want to let you old school death metallers know I won Purtenance-member of immortal damnation on ebay yesterday for 12.50 and 4 dollars shipping, a cd which goes for around 80 dollars. you're jealous!

My top favorite USDM(first three are gold):
Atheist-Unquestionable Presence
Immolation-Unholy Cult
Revenant-Prophecies of a Dying World
Ceremonium-Into the Autumn Shade(doom/death)
Incantation-Onward to Golgotha
Wicked Innocence-Omnipotence
Morbid Angel-Altars of Madness
Death-Human, Symbolic
Mindrot-Dawning(I suppose it qualifies as DM)
List updated.:)
I've been listening to Immolation's Unholy Cult for three days straight and it's an absolutely outstanding record. By far their best, imo. I guess I've never given it proper attention since it;s never been recommended as something special, but it's so much better than the overproduced too heavy on the blasting Close to a World Below.

I was actually talking about this album last night with a buddy, we both agree that Dawn of Possession and Here in After is their best work, but when it comes to Unholy Cult it has some great songs like Of Martyrs and Men, Unholy Cult, and Reluctant Messiah, but becomes tedious to listen to the album all the way through. Their ideas get meshed together and lose meaning. I like the album, it's just that I don't think it comes anywhere near Dawn of Possession or Here in After.

Dawn of Possession is great too, probably my 2nd favorite Immolation, but the production on it doesn't make all the songs stick out. They kinda seem to run together from some point onwards. Unholy Cult struck me as very moody/brooding with interesting doomy sections. A very engaging album.

Dawn of Possession is my favorite Immolation. I have the remastered version on metal-mind and am not sure how much different the sound is and to me the sound and instrument tone is just excellent.

for nec.. or malignance. Is Suffer(swe) any good ?

I was all set up to steal the cd at the last minute from work. Sadly my boss decided to come see me at this time and I couldn't bet before the end. :erk:
