I got a buddy into Grotesque today, so much so that he bought the rerelease with Gardens of Grief.
Shit, I'd pick that up.

I've been listening to Immolation's Unholy Cult for three days straight and it's an absolutely outstanding record. By far their best, imo. I guess I've never given it proper attention since it;s never been recommended as something special, but it's so much better than the overproduced too heavy on the blasting Close to a World Below.
Dawn of Possession is great too, probably my 2nd favorite Immolation, but the production on it doesn't make all the songs stick out. They kinda seem to run together from some point onwards. Unholy Cult struck me as very moody/brooding with interesting doomy sections. A very engaging album.I was actually talking about this album last night with a buddy, we both agree that Dawn of Possession and Here in After is their best work, but when it comes to Unholy Cult it has some great songs like Of Martyrs and Men, Unholy Cult, and Reluctant Messiah, but becomes tedious to listen to the album all the way through. Their ideas get meshed together and lose meaning. I like the album, it's just that I don't think it comes anywhere near Dawn of Possession or Here in After.
for nec.. or malignance. Is Suffer(swe) any good ?
