I just cant seem to understand how the same people voting for Black Metal can sit there and vote down Blood Fire Death, just dosnt fucking make sense.

I was about to say the opposite. Early Venom was cited as a primary influence by virtually every band that was pushing the edge of extreme metal in the 80's. Blood Fire Death is Bathory polishing their sound and releasing some merely competent Hell Awaits worship.

Although i agree with you on that Avigrus, i cant understand why you would think Black Metal is not worthy of being on this list, especially when you seem to really like Bathory. While it most certainly is not a better album than BFD, it definitely belongs up there.

... im just baffled at how someone can vote one of those albums up, and out of all the other albums on the list, vote the other down.

I don't think that's true. I disagree with him on quite a few things, but he at least gives sensible reasons for his opinions in most cases. Sometimes I wonder if he's just trolling with some of the stuff he says, but most of the time I can respect what he has to say. Just because he frequently disagrees with received opinion doesn't make his taste bad (in fact, he listens to a lot of great stuff imo.) The biggest issue I have with him is his seeming lack of appreciation/respect for second wave black metal.

And I'll come out and say right now that I don't think Blood Fire Death is a very good album ("A Fine Day to Die" is a good track though. But to be quite honest, I prefer Emperor's version of it.)

Golgotha/Guardian/OM

Pointing out the Venom-Bathory connection is irrelevant. Regardless of influences, Blood Fire Death is simply poor (for the most part). Before you respond, please understand that "A Fine Day to Die" is possibly my favorite metal song of all time, but, in that context, the rest of the album demonstrates more inconsistency than just about any other metal album in existence. Also note that I still put it in my top 100 metal albums list on RYM, but it will certainly never deserve a higher place than "The Return..."
