Black Metal/Like an Ever Flowing Stream/Blood Fire Death

You have the worst taste on this forum.

It has little to do with taste. People can fap over what a seminal second-wave/Viking metal masterpiece The Golden Walls of Heaven or Dies Irae are, but that doesn't change the fact that they're still basically glorified thrash metal. And as I've said, BFD is my favorite Bathory album, but I see it as their least creative of the first five. Under the Sign of the Black Mark is the one that really sounds unique to me, and I can't stand it. If I voted purely along personal taste I'd have voted for No More Color a bazillion times.

We need some new choices. Once Demigod is in, Demilich will go in by default, so we'll have to come up with two new ones. And Incantation will be very close to being in. So maybe a little break from OSDM? The black metal options are somewhat lacking at the moment, so maybe someone can add a good one.

The list is still light on power and progressive metal. Actually, doom metal too perhaps although outside of the traditional/doom stuff I don't know what to nominate (Trouble's Psalm 9 needs to get in at some point). There are already 11 definite black metal albums (13 if one counts Dissection and Destroyer 666) enshrined with Immortal sure to follow.

I was begging for Turn Loose The Swans. I think even with just crimsonfloyd and myself voting it will get to the top soonish.

I would vote up a Dream Theater album, but they have too many haters. I think Images & Words, Awake, and Scenes From A Memory are all pretty great.

Maybe a sludge or stoner doom album? If The Mantle is the second best album ever then maybe there is room for Mastodon - Leviathan. Boris - Pink would be a really cool choice too, but I don't think there are many Boris fans here.

I think Brave Murder Day is really boring. Would vote it down. Opeth deserves another album first. Disembowelment would be a better doom choice, and Forgotten Woods - The Curse of Mankind is a way more interesting and innovative album, though the similarities are mild at best.

I really don't know much about power metal at all.

The majority of power metal bands [imo] aren't that great. They all sound the same, their riffs aren't that interesting. If someone wants to throw up Horror Show by Iced Earth or Bleed by Angel Dust (if you consider either of those power metal), they'd get my vote. Anyway, after Kreated:

My comment was over the top before - sorry about that - bad day at work. Although, i have to say this thread has a great deal to do with personal taste, and also how influential and important an album is. Of course people are going to vote for their favourite albums... if you like No More Color, then hammer it home. It is a great album.

I still stand by my comments on BFD, thrash metal or not, i think it's a fantastic album and it deserves as spot in the top 50/100.
