The Most Universally Respected Bands (among metalheads)

It's the only album were I heart all the songs.

Number of the beast has some great songs, but some of the tracks suck ass.

well i wouldn't say some of the songs suck ass but there is some filler... but yeah i think powerslave is the most consistent album

Killers is the most consistent, followed by Piece Of Mind, imo, though the self-titled has the best string of songs.

i always thought the last track on killers was crap... piece of mind is overrall the strongest release to my ears

well then up until a few months ago I wouldn't be either, according to you. nice logic there. not everybody starts with the classics. I started with extreme hardcore and punk.

and up until a few months ago i would have said the same to you

I enjoy Maiden & I have 4 of their albums (not Killers...). I've listened to them quite a bit yet I don't worship them. They're alright, but I won't exactly put one of their albums on & hit repeat.

In other words I respect them, but there is other stuff out there I enjoy listening to more.

Mine are:

Iron Maiden
Led Zeppelin (yes, they're still good)
Black Sabbath
Judas Priest
Metallica

All the old stuff then, I guess. Oh yeah, and AC/DC. The Who don't classify as metal though. :D

From my experience, I'd say Maiden and Sabbath, nothing more. I'd have added Slayer but I can recall a lot of times when people said they weren't into this kind of shit (usually Slipknot people, but hey, they still enjoyed Maiden and Sabbath).
