The Official Movie Thread

Speaking of Korean film, somebody should give me a list of quality movies I haven't seen yet (preferably on Netflix).

Seen so far:

Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance
Oldboy
Lady Vengeance
Joint Security Area
Silmido
Shiri
Tae Guk Gi
The Front Line
R-Point
I Saw the Devil
The Chaser
The Man from Nowhere
The Good, the Bad, the Weird
Poetry
Mother

Every one of those films was excellent if not some of the best movies I've ever seen. The Yellow Sea and My Way are instant queued on my Netflix so don't recommend those.

I will not let negative comments about Skyfall deter me from seeing this. I fucking love the Bond series. James Bond and Tyler Durden are my alter-egos.

Has anyone seen Cloud Atlas yet? Quite a few of my friends have and said it was good, but then there's always that one person that says "the book is better", which is almost always true so I'm thinking about buying the book first and then watching the movie later.

I got Secret Sunshine and Still Walking(think their both Korean) on my Netflix..but we've seen all the same films and you've got a couple on me

Oh by the way, watch Thirst! Cool newly inspired Vampire flick.

Is it good? I've avoided watching it because I figured it was just catering to the current Twilight vampire trend. Could be good since it was directed by Chan-wook Park though.

Yeah Thirst is pretty awesome. It's not pg13 like Twilight..hard to explain, just go for it.

And I watched Slimido, fucking awesome film.

Yeah, that one's great and amazing to think that it really happened. I think I remember reading somewhere that the release of the film was the first time it was publicized.

Cloud Atlas was killer if your ok with different as fuck from the norm of filmaking. I totally dug it a lot. It holds up to the book although they removed one of my favorite parts. Still worth seeing.

Because George Lucas won't have as much of a say in it. The Star Wars prequels are worse than most Disney films.

interesting theory, except that the reason that the Disney-made-Marvel-superhero-movies are doing so well is because the people that are in charge of making those movies are actually the people that are in charge of making the comics, with Disney Execs in charge of making a star wars movie, it could come out totally crap

The Last Man on Earth

which version??

it was awesome. Daniel Craig did a great job and Javier Bardem was a fun villain. lots of intense action and witty lines. i wish that chick didnt die so soon though

Weapons Of Ass Destruction

yeah
i know it's actually a porn movie but the phrase makes me think of this
