The Official Movie Thread

Watching Creepshow with April to start off the horror festives.

George Romero and Stephen King teaming up was probably a match made in heaven.

No, i never even heard of it. Any good?

It's the most recent movie made by the team that did Turbo Kid. I thought it was cool, very Fright Night/The Burbs/Lost Boys kinda suburban horror vibe, sizzling synth soundtrack like Turbo Kid, heavy on the nostalgia, but this one is more "conventional" by comparison, less gore, more of a thriller, fun serial killer plot etc.

I actually liked it a bit more than Turbo Kid and it will probably make my 2018 film list, I recommend it man I reckon you'd like it.

loved this one. I think this makes Neil Blomkamp one of my favorite directors.

Mark Danielewski hyped Aniara, calling it the scariest sci-fi film he’s ever seen. Now I’m even more pumped for it (if only I can find where to watch it...).

District 9 is still the front-runner for me, but CHAPPiE and Elysium could honestly go either way. Since I rewatched the former way more recently I'd probably give it the #2 spot.

I'll know for sure whenever I rewatch Elysium though.

I was just reading that Blomkamp is no longer directing the RoboCop reboot, kinda sucks it was sounding awesome, but apparently he left the project to work on an unnamed horror movie of his own. Just keen for a new Blomkamp movie at this point.

yea i read that yesterday. Didnt even know he was going to be the director for that one.

So i was just curious as to what his political views are so i was searching around and a bunch of stuff kept popping up about Elysium being some kind of super socialist propaganda piece, even though him and even Damon totally denied those claims. Think i might rewatch that one tonight.

I try to avoid thinking about that stuff when i watch movies and just enjoy whatever movie i'm watching as entertainment only. I thought the lefty stuff was pretty in your face in Elysium though.
