It really was. I mean, I laughed at quite few parts, but it was a contrived sort of "comedy". It was basically a collection of one line jokes. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't ever watch it again.

Dane Cook was pretty tolerable about 3-4 years ago. He had a gig at my school a few years ago, and he was easily funnier than on his albums. I haven't found him particularly good in movies though.

I wouldn't pan Superbad so much either. Compared to the recent shitty Adam Sandler and Jim Carrey movies, it's not so bad. And it's definitely better than American Pie. Not as good as The 40 Year Old Virgin, and probably weaker than Knocked Up as well.
