oh for sure. Right now i'm trying to flesh out my 2019 list but yeah 'll definitely get to those.@TechnicalBarbarity , don't forget to check out zahler's other flicks if you haven't seen them yet. Bone Tomahawk and Brawl in Cell Block 99
Color Out of Space. It's a little messy but I loved how it discarded any attempt at subtlety and just went for garish vfx vomit. Made me think of a more low-brow Annihilation in some ways
why in the world is the IMDB page for Dragged Through Concrete bombarded with 1 star reviews? Its as if every *PC faggot made numerous accounts and flooded the page with their nonsense.
Watched The Lighthouse last night, loved it to bits. Freud and Jung drunkenly dancing a jig around the room, having fun but also fighting for dominance over the subtext. Also one of the more repulsive films I've seen in awhile, so descriptive and grubby in its all-too-human degradation. Eggers rules and I cannot wait to see his upcoming Skarsgård-helmed Norse film.
I agree with this, just finished watching it myself. Execution felt a bit conventional (at times bordering on corny family dramedy) but the lack of give-a-fuck Stanley brought to it saved it for sure. Also this was one of those weirder types of Cage performances where it's hamfisted enough to make you want to bite your fist, but subtle/suppressed enough to not take it into gloriously autistic and memorable places. Just kinda middling and wonky.
Seeing as the director said Jung and only thing I know about Freud is fucking your mother, what are you referring to
you'll love that shit, i doubt you'd like his metal band though
