Looking at the IMDB dates there's only a single one for 2018 and it's a Spanish film fest, the rest of them are 2019 so personally I'd count that as a 2019 film.

Never heard of it myself, will have to scope that shit out.

Edit: I liked the trailer almost immediately so I didn't watch the whole thing lol definitely tracking this down.

Dude don't want to oversell it, its very low budget (but still impressive) minimalist kind of a movie. But I'm already thinking about watching it again. Liked the story, it's very basic. Good tension and gore effects.

Just reading up about it and it what they said they were going for "For inspiration, Jordan Downey and Kevin Stewart have cited Jean-Jacques Annaud's 1981 film Quest for Fire, Robert Eggers' The Witch, as well as The X-Files, and Tales From the Crypt."

Haven't seen the Witch, but the rest sounds pretty accurate especially Tales from the Crypt, got that vibe big time after the ending.

Not too often a movie leaves me thinking about it or wanting to watch it again shortly after just seeing it. It's only like 71 minutes long, so it moves at a pretty good pace.

The Platform - Spanish dystopian sci-fi prison film on Netflix. Heavy class analysis stuff going on here, it was aight, some pretty gross scenes and some unflinching violence but felt a bit sterile. Worth seeing at least once, especially if the idea of Cube meets High Rise appeals to you, even though it's not as good as either.

I loved the concept of this but it really fell flat in the last half hour. Very anticlimactic and so many plot threads left hanging (ie why did he go into The Hole in the first place?)

Didnt really like it. Story was ok at best with some rather dumb parts that were void of common sense. Execution was terrible. Cringe worthy acting and dialogue. Bad editing(there were even some camera/lens reflections in a few shots. @19:22 for example). Felt like a cheap tv movie. Amateur hour stuff. Last 20 minutes werent bad though which is why it's probably a 5/10(at best) for me.

there were also numerous scenes where this dude was just randomly banging away at a keyboard pretending to type. Clearly the guy has never used a keyboard in his life. Not sure how stuff like that actually gets missed. Small things like that kind of annoy me.

@no country for old wainds one of your network channels screwed me over. It had the poster for Depraved but showed some cheap ghost in the woods movie from 2011.

i only figured this out after seeing the picture you used in your 2019 list and was like "who the fuck is that dude? I dont remember him from the movie"
