Show off :p

Anyone a fan of Killah Priest? I just got his album Priesthood and I've downloaded his album Heavy Mental and they're both good.

ha, I just happen to save a list of artists in a notepad file whenever i'm going on a download spree so I don't forget any important names.

Killah Priest is a bit hit and miss imo, I've got The Offering which has some great tunes and some awful ones.

Anyone else ever used to listen to Barstool Prophets?

Dug out this little gem the other day:

I like a lot of non-metal. From Tom Waits, Joy Division, Jesus and Mary Chain, Cocteau Twins, Siouxsie and the Banshees to stuff like Telepopmusik, Goldfrapp, and Ladytron.

I'm a growing fan of punk: State of Alert, Negative Approach, SS Decontrol, Minor Threat, Turbonegro, Rudimentary Peni, etc.

I also like some rap: Immortal Technique, Raekwon, A Tribe Called Quest, Gravediggaz, Dalek, Pharoahe Monch, Goretex, Fu-Schnickens, etc.

I'm leaving out a lot of other genres I enjoy, but this has been the majority of what I've been listening to lately. Other than doom.

For the hell of it I downloaded a Ska album, Everything Goes Numb by Streetlight Manifesto. I actually like it. Very passionate and vigorous performance, and much use of the horn section, even breaking into a Brahms Hungarian dance tune at one time. And the drumming is more dynamic than I expected. I especially like it when they break out the hardcore power chords and combine it with the brass, becoming almost the Punk equivalent of Symphonic Black Metal.
