no, but if someone has to get shot it should probably be the guy who endlessly drones on about how gun fatalities are a small price to pay for preserving the 2nd amendment. he was deliberately fostering exactly the kind of landscape that leads to shit like this happening.

As far as I understand it, he compared gun deaths to traffic fatalities and argued that the latter is something we accept in exchange for the comforts cars give us. And yeah, I know there's a difference as deaths in traffic are mostly unintentional, but what he actually said is much more than just that snippet.

Now it looks like Kirk's allies are trying to dox and cancel anybody celebrating or joking about his death online, which I feel like is doing the exact thing Kirk himself would've been against. Like him or not the guy pretty consistently opposed cancel culture and concepts like 'hate speech' etc. They're dishonouring his life's work in his defence.
