Traditional Doom Metal

Any Semlah fans here? Their S/T debut is extremely good. The vocals are really well done, think Messiah Marcolin Jr. Some stellar leads and just quality songwriting. Any Candlemass, Forsaken, Isole, etc. fans would enjoy I think.

Absolutely top notch doom track here, and the solo is mesmerizing.

Such a great vocal performance on this one.

Kinda. I'll be seeing them in a month so it's not so bad.

First time seeing them live? I've seen them probably 10-15 times because they're a local band for me here in Pittsburgh. Great, great live every time. You're in for a treat for sure.

I caught some stoner/doom bands in nashville recently while finishing a job there. I wanted to catch ponykiller after hearing they where a great psych type band. They where great had a jazz type vibe to them.
won't mention the shitty bands names they all sounded to typical. But the opening band Black Tar Prophet blew me away. They had an old school vibe, but with Hints of noise and drone and a wall of fucking Sunn))) Amps and cabs. These guys literally got fucked up and destroyed the stage it was nuts. http://youtu.be/u5Dt0l40a8I

"CHOWDER is the amazing creature of Josh Hart, a true veteran of Maryland's doom metal scene, having played bass with seminal bands like Asylum, Unorthodox, Revelation, and - more recently - Earthride. With him, the acrobatic rhythm section of Doug Williams and Chad Rush. For CHOWDER, Josh Hart has switched to guitar and keys, with which he writes and plays twisted, dark riffs of doom with a progressive approach.
After the eponymous debut EP produced by John Brenner of Revelation, CHOWDER are ready to take the doom metal scene by storm with "Passion Rift", their first and all-instrumental album.
A rollercoaster of deep emotions and dark Lovecraftian visions played with sublime technique to please those into The Obsessed, The Hidden Hand, Revelation and the most adventurous sounds of doom. The sleeper has awakened..."
