Upcoming Album... Anyone worried?

This next album imo is going to be their best.

Unexpected, totally fluent and yet so brutal at the same time it's going to make you shit your pants.

Happened every single time I first listened to all of their records, and since Mikael' has such a perfect streak I highly doubt they can fail.

Apology accepted dude! Thanks!

It's extremely difficult for me to say exactly what it's going to sound like, but I feel inspired, we have a great bunch of musicians in the band whose abilities will be put to the test and utilized. However, not in a widdly widdly sense, but in a pure musical and selective sense. Opeth has never been about showing off, and that's something that will remain until the end. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I hope it's going to be a good record.

Well, I kinda know it's going to be great....

I like blastbeats too....

Cheers
Mike

I have no idea what to expect this time, i just know that it's gonna be very different and awesome :)
i'm hoping for another epic concept this time, something to follow with the music wrapped up in bed ^_^ but if not i know it will be awesome anyway! goodluck with the lyrics, and cheers bro!

This thread totally rocked Cause:

Mike gave us a little image of some of the songs, which sound really great to me.

Oinkness started making up drug addictness stories when Mike addressed him, trying to deny he's an ass. It was freakin' hilarious seeing him crumple up like that. Clearly one visit of Mike (Aka JesuS) makes a thread god-like. +Samsara handled the deal maturely (Awesome ban. Delicious)

Mike is cutting off on the cigarette's! Health first :D! I'm totally backing up that move! Makes my day:loco:

To bad I read it so late. But still enjoyed every moment. **Wears Opeth pajamas and goes to sleep**

i don't like it when someone gets banned, makes me think of that old song

do this don't do that can't you read the sign

"Ghost Reveries" is the most diverse Opeth album so far but ,according to Mike, it seems that the upcoming album will surpass GR in that aspect. I can't be more excited about it! Hopefully it will sound as a whole despite the variety of styles.

Thanks for the updates Mike! Finally something interesting to read in this forum.

BTW, "Lullaby" is a sweet song... It's actually not that hard to imagine Opeth doing something like it (but in 3/4 with bluesy vocals). Hope it makes the cut! :)

by the way, am i the only one on our forum who doesnt like it when someone gets banned?
Nope. I don't much like it either. Not on any forum. But Oink has been pissing a lot of people off since day one, in all the wrong ways. I think the only other alternative would've been for everyone to chip in for a good shrink and a big box of porn. The dude needs it.

Well considering Mike accepted his apology (or exscuse) I don't think Oinky should be banned.

I'll address this once. You and anyone who visits has a right to think what you want, but in this case your thought that Oink shouldn't be banned exists because you are ignorant to the facts. Mike's a nice guy. The decision to ban Oinkness from this forum was mine and mine alone. This has a lot of history. I just let Brandon back a few months ago after a 6 month suspension from this place and he decided to shit all over his 2nd chance. I'm sickened by his behavior, he's gone, it's going to stay that way permanently, and I feel pretty damn good about my decision.

I'd like to see Opeth team up with Alan Parsons. Metal is sort of beyond his normal experience, but given the directions Mike is talking about going, I think it would be pretty cool.
