In fairness it's a different language and they've taken their name in that language. Besides with the pronounciation and all the "er" inflexion makes far more sense, unless i'm over generalising.

Hmm, Metallica better then Megadeth?!?! Where did you get that!? I mean...Dave raised Megadeth just in full anger against the 'Tallicats'. If you say that Kill 'Em All is great album or something else, you like Megadeth. You know...that there are a couple of songs that Dave wrote, while he was in Metallica. (example: The Four Horsemen -> The Mechanix, The Call of Ktulu -> Hangar 18, i can go on and on) So...its just my opinion. I like both of the bands tho. I have seen Metallica AND Megadeth, and i have to say that Dave is one crazy son of a bitch! But both bands also did it for me when i was in my trash/heavy metal years.

And Led Zep and Black Sabbath?! i mean...smoke some weed...i mean good, dutch weed and listen to Led Zep - In The Light, or Led Zep - No Quarter...or Led Zep - Friends, i can go on and on about Led Zep. You just need to feel it. Feel 'The Page' and 'The Plant' and you'll understand...And for Black Sabbath...almost the same, listen to it...just like you listen to Opeth, listen to Black Sabbath. Songs like 'War Pigs/Luke's Wall' or 'N.I.B.' or 'Black Sabbath' again...i can go on and on with this.

But i don't get bands like Symphony X, Dream Theater, Kamelot, Rhapsody...some parts are nice but not everything. I just don't like that kind of music. I tried to listen to it but its just not my cup of tea

There are many bands listed here that I do not like. That does not mean I do not "get" them, or understand what they're trying to do.

In all my musical meanderings, searching for new sounds and interesting music, there is only ONE band I absolutely do not get. By this I mean I haven't the fucking slightest clue what they are trying to accomplish musically.

This band is Sigur Ros.




Flame me if you like, call me a barbarian, but it sounds like they've taken the worst of Bjork and killed it with a blender powered by pure PCP.
