What is your opinion on Deathcore?

My local scene is filled with god-awful deathcore, metalcore, and hardcore fags.

A city is better than having a COUNTRY of such fags.
In Singapore, the rise of core bands led to alot of emos trying to drive their way into the metal scene and crashing it.
To them, metalcore is so brootal... WTF

Deathcore is alright. I enjoy Suicide Silence, The Faceless, Molotov Solution, A Different Breed of Killer, and Winds of Plague, but mostly because my dad likes the genre and drags me along to such shows. I've seen Suicide Silence live twice and the Faceless three times and they aren't all that bad.

EDIT: Akeldama by The Faceless is one of my top five albums.

Winds of Plague's new album is one of the few deathcore albums I've heard. I mainly checked it out because of the symphonics, and really enjoyed that part but I was a bit turned off by the vocalist at times, especially when he starts shouting "motherfucker!" etc. Overall I thought the album was fairly good, there was only a couple songs I didn't like.

I do not like deathcore at all. Most bands sound exactly the same with little substance to keep their music from boring the hell out of me.

Fat guy, longhaired guy with guitar at nipples, asshole in gym shorts with what I call the asshole haircut shouting "this is where people get hurt," drummer playing non-stop breakdown beats, and a lethargic crowd of deathcore morons.

honestly, that's typical deathcore...the video I mean. the hardcore dancers made me laugh

but I have to say...I don't think you should be making fun of the way they look because in metal, looks really don't matter....their looks have nothing to do with the crap they make as music...just sayin.

hardcore dancers..hehe

Every single fucking band has the same merch design.

I WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree. I thought I was the only one that noticed this. I have seen that most "hardcore" or "brutal" bands have unintelligible logo designs...., you can't read it worth heck so if you buy a shirt it won't matter because no one can read it.
here's some examples as to what I'm talking about.

These kids are from my school. This is sounds about as bad as it gets in terms of the deathcore/scene metal trend thing.

interesting that they are from your school. I found that band on myspace a month ago, and I didn't like them because of the hardcore edge thing they had going on..but about them being christian, guys get over it. they were only saying they don't make christian music but they're christians.

and yeah I just didn't like the music.

No, these guys are force our religion down your throat people. They are also some of the funniest looking people I have ever seen. They are all stuck-up and pretentious loser fucks. God, I hate them.

The worst part is that they call themselves black metal/thrash metal. What the fuck?

All the merch is the same! I don't see how it can be interesting.

I live in Boston. I think I have you beat.
It's like the same thing, except they're angrier, drunker, and fatter.

but I have to say...I don't think you should be making fun of the way they look because in metal, looks really don't matter....their looks have nothing to do with the crap they make as music...just sayin.
Image is an important aspect of metal. You don't have to look hardcore all the time, but a live show is an audiovisual presentation. You don't have to have an elaborate stage show but frankly I think the least you can do is look the part. Obviously if the music's good then you can get away with not dressing br00tally kvlt, but if the music sucks and you look like a pussy it just compounds things. Also there's looking metal and then there's not looking like a fucking retard.

Yes, we as metal fans are the ones who can judge people for unintelligible logos :lol:
But the style of all the logos is the same, whereas there's more variety in metal logos. It's not the unintelligibility, it's the homogeneity.

The worst part is that they call themselves black metal/thrash metal. What the fuck?
If they claimed to be thrash they'd just be stupid and wrong, but the black metal claim is simply absurd.

No, mostly that it's pathetic seeing a bunch of fat angry assholes standing around with their arms crossed trying to be badass.

I meant fans not bands btw.

Simply put, deathcore seems to involve a lot of trying to look badass, and it's a sad fact of life that it's nearly impossible to be badass if you're fat.
