What makes you a metalhead?

well this question should say what makes us metalheads?
I ask this because I have seen everyone has a different view of what makes them metalheads.some say that just for listening to metal they are.what do you think qualifies you as a metalhead?

I completely agree with the above post. I really don't like the term metalhead, I'm just a person who likes this music. As I like a lot of others styles of music....Categorizations like this are useless in my opinion...

I don't think that a 15 years old girl with a Ricky Martin T-Shirt who loves the latin machotes and their music could be a metalhead.

I'm not sure about the meaning of "metalhead" of everyone of you, surely it changes depending on the country you're living in. For me, if "metalhead" means a guy who headbanges on each gig he assist to, and who wear "metal clothes" (you can see leather clothes, and painting his face in black, screaming all the time and making satanic sacrifices), I'm NOT a metalhead. If "metalhead" means only a man who knows how to "taste" the heavy/death/hard-rock buuuuut loves the all music if it's made with knowledge... I am, indeed!

What makes me a metalhead. Well I love metal. All types of metal. Death to Black to Speed to Thrash, to Heavy to Gothic to Doom to Stoner all types of metal. To me being a metal head is liking different types of metal and loving the bands you always started to love.

I love the music; I couldn't imagine listening to something else... well, I also love David Gray's stuff too... so I'm not sure if I am really a metalhead if the definition is someone who listens only to metal, wears chains, etc. I have dark hair and dress in black... but I also wear glitter stuff, tube tops, etc. -- not very "metal".

I am a metalhead if the definition is someone who loves the music... where I am from I'm considered a metalhead by everyone despite the clothes and other musical tastes.

I love guys with long hair and the "metalhead" look, too -- as long as the guys are intelligent and cool people..

Well...i guess people can call me a metalhead....both because of my music taste and my clothing.... *shrug*
i don't really care about the label..i love this music more than any other type,
but i also listen to other some/a few other stuff (mostly bands that have strayed from the metal field,f.e. Ulver and some bands from the gothic/electro field f.e. Diary of Dream-psychosis -...used to listen more goth stuff when i was younger,now i've become old and conservative )

Well Manuelgv, im proud of you son! I think that was a damn good question to ask, and the replies were nothing of what I expected! Good on ya everyone, I fell the same, It's not how you look that defines your culture, it's what you believe in and what you think is METAL that makes you what you are.
I also love Metal, and I will keep loving it for as long as I can, or until I go deaf or something heh.
I love all kinds of Metal too, which is great for everyone else too, coz you can't just stick to one genre, that gets boring. I used to be like that, until I explored the wonderful world ov MEtal, and found there are loads more fantastic types to be discovered.
