I wondered what you people liked this year so far... Here are my favorites..

Gravedigger - Rheingold - heavy power.. Very catchy choruses.. Loved it.
Ephel Duath - Painter's Palette - very hard to listen to, but good nonetheless.. Very jazzy, nice technical skill, good musicianship.. Good and exotic, in a way..
Carnal Forge - More You Suffer - reminded me a little of the gold ol' Thrashy days.. Something between pure Thrash and Gothenburg-style melodeath..


There were some other good releases, too.. Sonata Arctica, Nightrage, Omnium Gatherum, Norther, Skyfire, Lanfear, Royal Hunt.. Opeth surprised.. Anthrax, Overkill came back with solid efforts..

Give your favorites and a couple of words on them, if possible..

Gordian Knot-Emergent-Damn these guys are musical geniuses

All of the reissues of Bill Evesns' works that came out this year
I am still waiting for Arch Enemy and myriad other albums to be realeased

I almost bought it today...But i've never heard any song by them...Just the people working in this project is impressive, maybe I'll consider buying it next time .

Gordian Knot is terrible, be warned. If you like your music to consist of soulless wank, you'll love it. No vocals, just wank after wank without about as much emotion and liveliness as a corpse.
