moonspell i guess, i dont like them though but they are the only big band from portugal(metal of course) , my favorite portuguese metal band is actually my own

outside of metal Madredeus is really cool world/new age music with cool acoustic guitars and one of the best girl voices i have ever heard. they have sold a couple of million albuns worldwide, not bad at all.
