COB start writing new album

So, do you guys think this new album will be anything like, say, Follow the Reaper? Seriously underrated album right there. The grym and icy production surely adds to it too.

I wouldn't really say FtR is underrated, RRF is definitely underrated IMO. People say it's the worst album they have but it's definitely better than BD and most of AYDY.

Also, if the songs Halo of Blood and the preview in the interview were any indicator of the album, I think it'll be a more black metallish BD. A FtR sound would be sick though.

"Well, believe it or not, but I hear some influences from the first albums. The omnipresent keyboard probably helps a great deal. It's a bit more like the sound of Follow The Reaper and Hate Crew Deathroll, but still not quite like it. I'm not sure how to rate it, but it's miles better than Blooddrunk and Relentless, Reckless, Forever."

Its not only about the tones. Sure, the production might be similar to FtR, but Halo of Blood misses the magical melodies throughout the songs that make it FtR (or SW, HB, HCDR, hell even AYDY). But who knows, it's only one song, and that is pretty promising. It just needs more Bodom as it where.

Yeah doesn't really sound anything like Burzum...More like Dissection, talking about that black metal tremolo riff, not the song in general. The rhythm riff in the verses reminds me of Kalmah, but that's just my opinion.

yeah i think the verse sounds like "Bullet are Blind" or a "12 Gauge"

Good news :)

FTR underrated? It's widely considered as one of the best if not straight up the best COB album, and a great metal album in general. It's the album systematically brought up when comparing a new one.

Agreed, RRF is actually very good, a lot more than it's given credit for.

And about the new album, I wouldn't compare it to BD, I think it's gonna be a lot better than BD was. BD is the worst they've done, writing/tone/production and everything-wise, as exemplified by being almost absent in the setlists only an album later (btw one thing that pisses me off a lot is that none of the better songs are actually played, only the title track and/or WIWI, no BFH/SPFTD/HOMT).

Really? All I see is people jocking Something Wild and Hatebreeder (the latter of which rightly so).

I feel the opposite, only now am I seeing the appreciation for Something Wild. I always saw people praising HB, FTR and HCDR (not as much).

Their first four albums were great overall albums even if they might have had a few weak songs. AYDY/BD/RRF don't have the same quality. That being said we have been seeing a steady improvement.
