Does National Socialism have any truth or relevance to it?

So would you say that a bigger business buying out a smaller business is a corruption of true capitalism?

edit: @ Einherjar

In essence, yes. The big business has no need to buy that smaller business, it's making enough money already. In fact, having that small business around can only aid the larger business. Instead of buy it out, they should try and come up with ways to sell more products; and the small business in turn should do the same. That's competition.

hard to say, but I think I'd go with capitalism too...
but I don't think people are capable of something like that, when all it would take would be one person to ruin it for everyone...

Very true. I guess in that case we'll always have something to strive for. Alright, I'm out for the night. If people want to post more, I'll be back in action tomorrow.

Competition is why small businesses fail. Once a business gets large enough, it will be able to provide a greater variety for a cheaper price, and attract more customers away from smaller businesses who have less variety for a higher price.

Right. But metalheads are a minority. People into Averse Sefira are a minority among metalheads. Wal-Mart goes as far as carrying Cannibal Corpse. Very few people are going to take issue with their music selection.

That's because as far as metal bands go, Cannibal Corpse are very popular and have been around for a long time. Same with Opeth, Nightwish, etc.

Indeed. This was a good discussion. I enjoyed it. Also, your argument actually changed my perspective somewhat. If you've ever argued with anyone before, you know how rare that is. Well done.
EDIT: Mega-ninja'd

I think it goes by label popularity more than individual band popularity. Opeth is very popular, but you will only see Ghost Reveries on a Walmart shelf because Roadrunner is a popular enough label for Walmart to consider stocking the releases of.

right...but can we get off the topic of metal cds?
Wal-Mart doesn't offer the depth of selection that a specialized store does, but they offer an extremely serviceable selection that will fit almost everyone's needs, and they do it at low prices.

I've seen Blackwater Park at Best Buy.

Obligatory...

It's not like it degenerated into retarded arguments and flamewars.

If you want to return to the original topic, start over from Einherjar's post about condoning racist ideologies.

Actually, I think it might have been the single most concentrated, focused, intelligent discussion I've ever seen on UM. Way to go, guys!

Anyhow, I think the consensus is that National Socialism is a bad call.
EDIT:1,500 post! Woa!
