Miscellaneous movie thread

Blood Diamond was pretty great Blitzy.

Finally saw Xmen 3... Was ok... Will there be a 4?

Saw music and Lyrics on V Day
For a chick flick, it wasn't as painful as it could have been. Hugh Grant has a few good lines.

Will probably go see the D this weekend.
Hanging for Children of Men to come to DVD... Missed it at the movies.

I can't wait to see this.

I read an interview with Sly over Christmas and he was very candid about which of his films he liked and which ones he hated. He's not very flattering towards Rocky V. :) At least he's man enough to admit when he's made a mistake, some big movie stars would defend their dodgy work to their graves.

I saw Stranger Than Fiction most recently. Quite a good movie aside from the soppy narration at the end that felt the need to explain overtly what the film itself had explained very well. Oh well.

I had no problem with that part.

The only thing I found annoying was the unnecessary character played by Queen Latifah. Not really much point there, I thought.

Bloodrayne...

It probably couldve been a whole lot better, there was some decent actors but some of the bad ones ( eg. Michelle Rodrigez[sp?]) really dragged it down.

It looked like it was made for tv, nothing wrong with that. The story itself was ok but it seemed quite protracted, while still sloppy. Lots of blood being spilt so if thats your thing...

Otherwise I would avoid it.

I just got Little Miss Sunshine. Haven't watched it yet. Hope it's good. The only thing I don't like about it is Toni Collette.

^ Watched it just before. Good movie. Not great. A little slow to begin with though. 75%

I just finished watching 2:37. One of the most intense things I've ever seen.

What's that about? Not sure if I know it or not.

Saw Babel a couple of nights ago here in Bangkok. Good movie. The cinema was ultra-modern, and makes Melbourne cinemas look third world! The seats were even spring loaded, so they went back as I leaned on them.

The Libertine. Based on the life of John Wilmot, 2nd Earl of Rochester. A poet and chronic alcoholic who died a painful death at the age of 33. Very interesting period movie featuring Samantha Morton , Johnny Depp , John Malkovich.

Noice. I'll have to check it out.

We saw The Pursuit of Happyness last night, and a Thai film this evening. Three films in six days - rockin'.

So, has anyone seen anything else recently?

Everyone go hire Oldboy - it'll fuck with your head like it did mine.
