Nightwish with Anette has amazing live chemistry but I've only heard one decent song and her old band Alyson Avenue was better IMO

Their music is an endless build-up that drags on and on and on and on without ever folding out and blossoming. This lack of climax in narrative is also present in a majority of the newer "atmospheric" black metal works that are oh so popular nowadays. I've never been a hater on this board however, and I usually prefer talking about bands I like instead of hijacking threads about bands I don't, so; IMO.

I thought that's pretty much what post rock is, which I thought influenced a lot of those bands.
