My advice is that if you really want to go through with it, contact the Swedish embassay and talk to them - it's their job to know everything about these things

hyena: I was thinking about your happenings and have some more aspects. About the passing the exam of the bank, I thought that maybe_some_people noticed that this guy and you.. and so on, and did not want to make it look like you passed because he is in the comission to decide? (of course I know zero details, so might be this is all wrong guess).

And about PhD and Exam both: maybe it could be that those both exams were little bit too much at once? I at least don´t like it to have couple of important exams at the same time, because then only with 250% of intensity I´ll make both good, otherwise I have one good and one bad or so. It´s really tough. I don´t mean that you are not able doing it, I just mean that it could have supported the things going wrong.

what are your next plans? Can you re-do the PhD defense later again?

AND Taneli Jarva is TEH HOTT!!!! I didn´t know I like The Black League but now I do! It was such a great gig, Jarva was drunk as hell and still performed so fine. Once he almost fell from stage. I will get all their records now. Luved it! Also now I can understand why people love "the old Sentenced" when he was their singer, I never knew before, now it starts to get crystal clear (but Ville L is teh greatest )

Aswell I solved the trouble with my friend about SubUrban Tribe. That´s very good.

@fire: thanks for the time spent pondering my disgraces. i briefly considered what you say some days ago and ended up discarding the hypothesis: it's not like we have a relationship or even casual sex, we're just friends and we go for long spells without seeing each other, too. i have been very discreet about my interest in him, and there's no reason why other people in the commission should have known. so no, it's not a point of diplomacy, you don't fail someone because she's friends with one of the people in the commission.

the second point is very correct. i aimed too high, and should have analyzed more considerately the effort each of these required versus the effort i was willing to put into them. that's why my boss sent me on my way with a flat it builds character yesterday: i have overestimated myself. this has also been the common opinion of most people with experience in this whole business. so i need to trade "fast and furious" for "slow and steady" for a while, smother my head with ashes (is that an expression in english, MagSec?), and wait for retribution. I have to resubmit my thesis in September 2004, and I'll start working on it in 2 months I guess. As for the job, I'll just wait for the internal selection, which is in 4 years so no sweat at the moment.
