The Art Thread

TBH I'm not really very interested in classic art pieces, you'd need to drag Susperia back for that. I have a few favorites though:

Terry Winters

Sam Francis

Sigmar Polke

Probably more...and these aren't necessarily my favorite pieces by the respective artists (I randomly picked a Winters piece for example, and the Sam Francis piece I hold in highest regard is "Flash Point" but I can't find a picture of it for some reason). But yeah I don't expect many people to care for the stuff I like, and the reason I like it is rather inexplicable. I like it because I think it looks interesting and engaging.

The below works influenced me greatly during my art heyday. They probably even influence my writings, even down to poems and even album reviews. Art inlfuences my life. I live for it, in it's various guises. Expression is the ultimate ability.

Brett Whiteley: Self Portait

Frank Lloyd Wright: Falling Water

Jaume Huguet: St George and the Princess

JW Waterhouse: Ulysses and the Sirens (I own a print of this, its gorgeous)

And this, probably the most influential art work on my whole life. I was obsessed with it for years!

Salvador Dali: Metamorphosis of Narcissus

I'm a fan of classical and medieval art and architecture. Beyond that, I'm not really into it, especially the modern stuff.
