The Art Thread

I've always liked World War I photos. They seem to capture the depressing and futile aspects of the war.

I always loved nature, especially forests. Maybe because I live in the city or maybe because of the music I listen to (forest metal, etc) and occasionally smoke pot. I guess it just all mixes together and works best in a forest setting. The array of emotions, colors, seasons, that the forests convey. Having sex in such a setting (which I have done, but it was kinda lame forest because I live in the city) has always been more pleasurable. Even without the sex, I still find my ecstasy. Just hand me a joint and my ipod and let me meditate on my life and on the majesty that surrounds me.

It's a shot of a nearby abandoned office building. Photoshopped with some kind of grimy, noir-esque industrial decay feeling.

By the way, cool marker drawing. I like your style.

I see. I think you should take multiple shots of this place.

Thanks, but I think my drawing needs to be better than this. Gotta love that band, Cancer. Its a drawing I did off of a live video of them performing. It is based off 3 shots in the video put into one composition.

It's not "technically" a good drawing, but I think the very impressionistic style of drawing is put to good use for it. I find things like that more interesting than a very technical, realistic drawing would be.

Yes, I was not aiming at realistic representation. It is interesting that you call this impressionistic. I am technically more confident with drawing than painting. I understand how it doesnt look technically good but I think you are wrong in assuming it is not technically good. Some of my paintings are more technically shoddy.

Xorv: it was sort of an angled shot.

MURAI: I'd actually call it more of an "expressionistic", even abstract expressionist, piece to a high extent. However there are indeed elements of impressionism such as the colors and denotation of movement/energy.
