The Most Universally Respected Bands (among metalheads)

I can't really definitively say I prefer one of them over the other, but I do know that whenever I've seen Maiden and they break into the song "Iron Maiden", I think to myself, "Bruce really has no business singing this."

Somewhere in Time > Piece of Mind > Killers > Seventh Son of a Seventh Son > Powerslave > The Number of the Beast > Iron Maiden.

Edit: The Number of the Beast included now. :d

I like the way he does a few of the older songs (Running Free, Sanctuary, Murders In The Rue Morgue), but yeah, Iron Maiden isn't one of the better ones for him.

Edit: WTF Somewhere In Time is easily the worst imo

How the fuck can the album that contains Transylvania and Phantom Of The Opera be ranked as last? That is unconscionable. :zombie: This is very upsetting for me.

Well those are the best tracks on there I think (plus I really like Strange World as well)... but the first two albums have some songs that are so hokey I can barely listen to them. Plus I think Dickinson blows Di'Anno out of the water.... so yeah. Actually Killers and Iron Maiden switch places on my list from time to time...

Well, as all the 80ies Maiden albums are 10/10 being ranked last is not THAT bad. :p

Purgatory is the best DiAnno song btw.

Priest are awesome and for me their where the whole branch of metal I like pretty much came from.

Do Thin Lizzy count as a metal band?

Are you high? Priest is just in our bad graces because of a shit streak. When painkiller round 2 comes out, I will definantly run around screaming "FUCKING PRIIIIIEEEESTTT FUCK YEEAAAHHH!!!!

I actually somewhat agree. All these Maiden fans on another forum told me that it was easily the best, but I don't see anything spectacular about it except for Alexander the Great.

Caught Somewhere in Time rocks; so does Sea of Madness, Wasted Years, The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner... there really isn't anything I dislike on this album.
