Every Opeth album past 1996 is the same album with different cover art, album title, and bitch lyrics. It is almost as if they feed My Arms, Your Hearse through a magical randomization program that they keep on the shitty setting, and "create a new album", thats how bad Opeth sounds. I am not defending Amon Amarth however as most of their riffs are repeated album to album but they do not take themselves as seriously as Opeth (and their fans) do. The difference is when I think of the two bands, Opeth definitely seems to be the skinny jeans kid of the two who is definitely bi-curious and willing to take a cock or four in their mouth while finding themselves. Every Opeth album has that moment either as an entire song or a piece of a song.

Heavy, Heavy, Angry, sucking cock gay, Angry, Heavy, Heavy, touching a penis, Angry, Heavy, end. <--Thats the song structure.

That was the first one I bought from them back in my early death metal days, and it's still the only one I've thoroughly enjoyed all the way through (and been able to sit through).

Huh, Fate of Norns and The Crusher are the only albums i dislike by them.

you can preview the whole obscura album on itunes, im stoked but it seems less technical than cosmo...but they're a progressive band and they're taking it to new places. some of the songs sound really cool

i'm tired of discussing opeth.

Me too, but I've never seen such blatant douchiness on the subject till this guy. Every single Opeth song is carefully written, and at the very least are admirable. I have respect for good music that I don't like, just because I don't like a band doesn't mean they suck. And it sounds like this guy expects metal to be nothing but heavy at all times which can be quite boring. Changes in intensity add a lot to music, an element that was quite used in classical and an element I wish was used a little more these days.

actually what i love most about classical music is the lack of intensity, and how it takes maybe half an hour or more to get to any sort of climax in a symphony or other piece

Definitely excited by the Angizia release. Their last album was awful but they have released 4 godlike albums before this, so I still have my hopes up.

The Lazarus album is streaming online and sounds pretty good so far. I love groove, sue me.

New In Flames - May/June. Now that the last founding member has left i dont have much hope for this album being any good.

lifelover/vried/moonsorrow could be good.

I would say Deicide but they are too hit or miss IMO.
