The Official Movie Thread

Sorry for being rude before. Anyway, the Crash that came out recently was about race relations, and it had rapper Ludacris. People loved it because it was uber PC, and it allegedly made one think about race, but the truth was that it was pretty saccharine, and didn't point out anything that a moderately aware person didn't already know...i.e. "wow, arabs aren't all terrorists." or "Look, that bitchy housewife actually has feelings." or "mexicans aren't all theives." The people who loved this movie are sadly the liberal phonies who pretend to be egalitarian to begin with.
I'm glad someone agrees with me. I agree the Mexican was the best, but it all seemed so fake. The line that blew any semblance of worth the movie had for me was when Ludacris said something like: "White people made the windows on the bus large so that they could laugh at the black people who had to ride it". Come on. The racist cop was rather standard and his argument with insurance agent "Shaneequa" seemed so forced. Everything seemed so constructed to bludgeon the viewer with PC anti-racism that it made it terrible.

im kind of excited to see Across the Universe

i know this is a metal board and I most likely will get flamed for this, but i've always loved the beatles (the soundtrack to the movie is all beatles songs)

You know, the band Root covered a Beatles song (Strawberry Fields Forever).

Go ahead, ask me how good it is.

edit: I won't tell you neener neener neener....it's alright I guess.

Just watched Man of the House with Tommy Lee Jones.

It proves how a good actor, and 5 hot birds can make an average film well worth watching :D

I love The Beatles. Genius stuff. The film just looks like a cash grab.

I am into Romantic shit also. I hate action movies. Something about them bores me. I am into artistic films. Though I think my friends will drag me into Across...

:OMG:you dont like action movies?!?
damn, how could they bore you? i mean, the genre name says it all doesnt it. Its constant action!

But thats ok because your a guy that likes romantic movies and thats hard to come by. so kudos to you:p

I also hate action movies - they have far too much emphasis on well...'action', special effects, over-the-top yet predictable plots, and are usually very formulaic. Just my opinion but I prefer movies that are more character-based, with real emotion, and yes artistic films. Well, basically European/independent films are what I'm into...
