Cheers, the only one I needed to wishlist was The Duke of Burgundy. Looks/sounds interesting!

same director as berberian sound studio and in fabric, if you’ve seen either of those, but this is his best work so far imo. ben wheatley produces a lot of his stuff which gives you an idea of what to expect, only with more of an emphasis on euro horror/giallo and less on british crime cinema.

I haven't seen either of those but In Fabric is on my radar. I need to binge some stuff soon, I have a lot starting to pile up. Oh and I thought Shadow was awesome, really liked the aesthetic a lot.

Duke of Burgundy is highly informed by some of the greatest ever like Franco, Larraz and Borowczyk but in way that's totally its own thing. Strickland is one of the good guys.

Zhang Yimou has totally fallen off my radar since Hero and House of Flying Daggers, both of which I quite liked. Didn't even know he was still making movies tbh.
