The Official Movie Thread

It's definitely an awesome movie, not quite as punchy and memorable as Fury Road but in terms of expanding Miller's wasteland world and pushing the possibilities of large scale action it's impressive.

Not even my favourite actioner of last year though. That spot still belongs to the Indian movie Kill.

i'm firmly in catching up with 2020s cinema mode again, and since i think my taste is roughly at a crossroads between chaw, slant and my rym friend charts, here's a list of all the films that made a top ten of the year in 2 out of 3 lists (EDIT: decided to factor in my top 10 criticker predicted scores for each year too):
2020
first cow (dir. reichardt) - 3 lists

evil does not exist (dir. hamaguchi) - 2 lists
anora (dir. baker) - 2 lists
the devil's bath (dir. franz, fiala) - 2 lists

more consensus this year than any other it seems. i've only seen three out of this whole pile: first cow, which i really like, bloody nose empty pockets, which i like, and vitalina varela, which i'm indifferent to.
