The thread where you talk about non-metal music you like.

Honestly, I can't get enough of this song, and the scene it's from is super touching. Holy shit.

I really like the song 'Paranoid Android' by Radiohead and am curious where to start with the band.

Recently digging:

Garlands clicked with me a lot more than Treasure. I managed to get an important copy with all of the extra tracks for about fifteen dollars.

These are songs I have recently enjoyed.

I was a fan of Lush from a while ago, but I was surprised how good this track was from the last album, which I didn't like much otherwise. Huge Beatles feel to it. The strings and horns make it.

With this one, I'm intrigued by the ways you can completely change what metal riffs feel like by changing the drum samples rather than having a rote drum performance or machine. That, and the vocal performance. Too bad this album didn't get any better than this and Comeback Kid. The whole pep rally/cheerleader aesthetic works for me. It works in a Heathers sort of way.

The girl is hot, which helps.

Also, I don't get why that Gotye shit was a megahit instead of this far superior track with a great video.
Okay, I know 23 million views is a very big number, but still, I've never heard this song outside of Youtube, and I've never heard anyone mention Oren Lavie outside the internet.

While that song is good (and, possibly, better than the Gotye single), it's useless to compare that song with the rest of the Gotye album, which is actually very good. Gotye draws his influence primarily from Peter Gabriel, Sting, and other '80s pop. The song you posted sounds more like contemporary indie, down to the singer's voice.

Lovelife did have it's share of misfires but yeah, that's a great song, probably the best form that album along with "Last Night".

Quite like this song. Don't really know a whole lot about the band but Mosshart's voice on this track is fantastic.
