The thread where you talk about non-metal music you like.

Yeah there's definitely a part of Bossa Nova that's over-the-top cheesy, and that was not what I was looking for. The classic King of Cheese in Bossa Nova is this guy, I guarantee you've heard his stuff in movies:

LMAO it's like the music they use on gameshows when they are giving contestants time to fill in answers!

Yeah, i'm questioning whether or not that person has a soul... but the first song you posted wasn't bad so it's not completely soulless! It probably grows on you though.

Gotta share this amazingly chill electronic track.

Anyone here big into early post-punk and new wave stuffs? A lot of the big names I can't get into aside from the B-52's S/T and others of similar faster pacing and twangy guitar, and through random searching I happened upon Positive Noise. Apparently regarded as (good) Joy Division clones but I don't really understand the similarities. If anyone knows what I missed, I'd love to as well. This album isn't completely consistent, but at its best moments (mostly in the first half) there's something dark but still intense/irreverent that clicks with me strongly.

(second song almost makes me think of the Manic Street Preachers in a vague way)

this song is great.

I'm really digging (ghost)'s record, Departure. Don't know much about this guy, but this shit is great for proofreading and editing papers.
