rip you miserable old fuck. not a death that bothers me - i was always periodically surprised when reminded he didn't die like 40 years ago, his best songs seem so old and ready made for the abyss. i do count myself among his fans though, if not really his devotees. when he was on, he was ON.
Something I've learned recently is that the kind of loungey melancholic ballad music you often hear as the theme songs to 70s japanese movies/anime/whatever is called 'enka' and is the greatest style of music ever, sorry metal.
While it's on metal archives, I can't honestly pass this off as sufficiently metal-ish like I might, say, Wardruna. Still, good shit if you like hypnotic, albeit simple drums and bagpipes.
