i guess i will go ahead and jump in here and say hello.

i am Matt and i run Tribunal Records and Divebomb Records and i am also the front man of KILLWHITNEYDEAD and in general don't take myself too seriously, so you shouldn't take me too seriously either. ;)

i post randomly in here and over on the Prog Power board since i am a loyal attendee.

i live in North Carolina, but grew up in Delaware and was born in 1972.

i am into all kinds of music as most people who know me will attest to. my favorite band is Journey, but overall i am a metal head and have been since my dad gave my Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow on vinyl when i was kid. my first concert was Dio/Twisted Sister which was documented on the Dio release "A Special From The Spectrum" VHS. It was on my 14th birthday. below is my "wall o' Journey"

Real name: Lyndsay. (pronounced Lynn zee, just like Lindsey, only spelled differently :) )
My first name however is Autumn. Lyndsay is what people have always called me by. Father wanted Lyndsay, the mother wanted Autumn lol.

Born: October 6th, 1992

Location: Cambridge, ON. Canada

Student: I am currently in my first year at Conestoga College. In a 2 year program for Radio Broadcasting. I hope to pursue my own metal show someday.

I worked as a full time co-op student in my last remaining year of high school. I was a promotions assistant, for my local radio station. I took advantage of being able to get the job out of the many other students that applied from different high schools. Which then lead me to talking on air one day, WHICH then lead me to hearing great feedback from staff and even the manager!

From there I knew that an On Air Personality was what I wanted to pursue career wise. I’m big on music and I love to discuss and debate about all different genres, especially my metal! I’m open to all genres and different styles (don’t mean that I like them all), but overall Metal has been my love for over seven years now and I am proud to be known as a metalhead!

Relationship Status: Single. Love is nothing but pain..

Overall I’m glad I found this forum to finally meet new walks of life out there that support and strive off metal!

I hope to make some great relationships with a bunch of you in this new year of 2011.
Stay Active!
Cheers!

Hobbies: Fitness, Radio, Concerts (20)

Welcome Lyndsay ! I'm sure you will like this forum. We've got some great mods here that keep the whole thing rollin' in a decent way. There are some other guys here that have radio shows too, so you'll fit right in !!

I noticed the rare Kenzos/Dream After Dream album up there. I have that one too! Good soundtrack!

Right, I know that Poundingmetal 74 and Caveman Ninja have both shows (and bands). So feel free to contact them and ask for advice.

Again welcome to the insaniquarium and beware of the bald guys

Hey Logchick, I'm in London right now so I'm not that far up the road. With regards to a show, the best advice I can offer is join a college station and get in touch with record labels / agents and try and procure interviews.

Also, spend as much time on-air as possible. The more practice you can get, the better. Right now, radio is a helluva market to try and break into as ipods, cellphones, mp3 CDs, and the like drown it out.

Hey man!
My college actually has our own radio station 88.3 CJIQ.
In second year we get to be on air, so I'm looking forward to 2012. As far as experience goes, I've already made great relationships with the second years and have made guest appearances on their radio shows.

Aggressive Tendencies is where you can find me every now and then. The guys asked me to come in again, but this month for a MetalChick spot, where we will be featuring bands with either female musicians or female vocals. So I’m definitely looking forward to that!

Right now I can make my own demo and send it to my teacher that owns CJIQ, but I find that it’s too much work for just one person with all the production and shit that goes into making something run successfully and smoothly. The teacher only has 5 spots for new shows. My one classmate and I had realized; with all the excellent feedback we were getting from the Dj Show projects, that we have great chemistry together, and would love to host our own 90’s show.
Classes start up again next week, so we’re going to see if we can make a demo and send it off to him; if he does accept, than him and I can have this show going next year along with the others who make it as well.

And oh geez man; tell me about it! The radio market is in battle mode; trying to stay alive with all the downloading and shit. I’m not sure if I want to work in the mainstream field, would probably be more happy to have my own underground radio station for strictly metal. But I guess will see where life takes me

I’m good friends with the Beat and DaveFM, I’m sure you’ve heard of at least one of those stations, if you’re living in London?

Darryl Law, the music director from Dave wants to introduce me to the guys over at FM96. They say I have a perfect voice for a Rock Station haha!

Yup, I know Dave FM - it's a decent rock station, but we can't get it here (London radio is awful, especially when you're used to Detroit's!). FM96 plays too much new stuff for my tastes. Best of luck with the stations though, if you know a lot about music and have a great voice, you should be a shoe-in for Corus!

Nice! Yeah I definitely want to work for Corus!

I would also love to work locally if given the chance, but depending on what you want to work as, its hard to find work in your main hometown. They say that you usually have to start off somewhere else, but eventually you will come back at some point.
Its just one of those jobs that are a hit or miss.

http://www.milkmanunlimited.com/jobs.htm has all their job postings, so hopefully I find something good once I graduate.

Thanks for the advice; much appreciated! :)

Ok, so i'll give it a shot as well. My name's Dan, i'm from Constanta, Romania, born in '88 and i've been a metalhead for...well..my whole life i guess. My childhood developed under the sign of Scorpions, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and such courtesy of my dad. In time, my taste in music has evolved so now i'm listening to pretty much anything in the rock-metal area...from the blues of the 1920's to Mayhem (although i don't care much for Attila :p ). Well, it's great to meet you guys. See you around!

Welcome to the board. Just follow the rules and enjoy.

Hello, my name is Konstantin. I'm 20 years old, been a heavy metal/ rock fan all my life. I currently live in Vienna, Austria ( study abroad), I study Economics, but I'm from Sofia, Bulgaria.

I grew up listening to Pop/Rock like ( Savage Garden, Queen, ABBA, Dire Straits, Billy Idol and more similar artists) from my mom and hard rock/heavy metal ( Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and so on) from my dad.

My favorite genre metal is Melodic Death Metal, but I have quite a wide range of music, there a some pop bands, some rocks and even electro bands/ artists that I like. I like some bands that fuse metal with "mainstream music" like the POP-metal or the upcomming Dub-metal, as well as the old Nu-Metal.

My favorite band is IN FLAMES, heard them for the first time in 2003 from my best friend, first track was Trigger from the Freddy vs Jason soundtrack, was totally blown away by it, and I fell in love with the band from that moment on, I've seen them 3 times got an autograph and they sang happy birthday to me this year at Nova Rock Festival(their show was exactly on my 20th birthday).

I love HIM as well, people have told me that it's not normal for a guy to say that he loves HIM, but I find the band to be amazing with really beautiful lyrics.

A long with music I love poetry - Edgar Allan Poe, Pablo Neruda and Charles Baudelaire are my favorite poets, I write myself if you want to read something just PM.
