Does National Socialism have any truth or relevance to it?

He's kinda right. It's not a good call.

Anyhow, we'll still need to power our cars, and oil isn't gonna be a valid option much longer.

Faggots.

Nuclear waste is unsafe for approximately 10k years after it is used, and where do they put that waste? In storage facilities that overtime get weathered and what not leading to the waste leaking into groundwater supplies.

The water they use to cool the reactor is tossed back into rivers which heats the water found there which often times can kill fish.

And really, what sounds scarier - A terrorist bombing a nuclear reactor or a terrorist bombing a windfarm?

Definitely. Nuclear power is bad news.
There's also always the threat of another Chernobyl. Everyone assumes that American reactors are perfectly safe, but they leak. A friend of mine who is a journalist went to do a report on one. She wasn't in there long, and she was in the parts that aren't supposed to have radiation, but afterwards they scanned her for any radiation she might have absorbed and then refused to tell her the results in a way that made it pretty clear they weren't good.

Not particularly. and if you so think I am then please do tell me why I am wrong.

You are wrong because you don't know what the fuck you're talking about. The least you can do is read the wikipedia page on nuclear power. For example, nuclear power plants give off less radioactive waste and other wastes in general than most any other traditional power plants. 80% of France's energy is powered by nuclear plants, and they have the cleanest air of any industrialized country in the world and the cheapest energy of any country in Europe. Also, spent fuel can be reprocessed, which saves a lot of time, money, and effort, and also greatly reduces the potential for harm to the environment. The risks in storing nuclear waste are small, even when compared to waste from other types of plants, and newer technologies continually reduce potential hazards even further. As far as disasters like Chernobyl are concerned, you have to take into consideration the context in which it happened, the quality of security precautions involved, the fact that it was an outdated model of plant even then and is thoroughly outdated now, and several other factors which suggest that a similar event occurring in the US is as likely as Ron Paul being elected president.

I love how this topic has shifted from a debate on NS, to economics, to how many societal problems the US has in general to 'green energy'. Brilliant.

Windfarm? Ha, right, buddy. That's rich. How exactly do you plant wind? I've never heard of no wind seeds!

Hey farmer John it's time to harvest the wind! Get real.

I think I just pissed myself.

Edit: On another topic i'm all for nuclear energy. Additionally it hopefully leads to fusion.

with Keanu running everywhere

nuclear power is scary for a split second, but its pretty damn cool.
This is the USA, not the USSR, im sure we have a little bit higher standards on the power plants

I did far more than a Wikipedia search - I had done several days worth of research for a speech I had to give and had found a great amount of evidence against the usage of nuclear power and if I find my power point I'll bring up my sources.

Until then.

Ban nuclear power.
