How many times did it happen to you when you checked out someone from the back, that had long hair and you thought was a guy or a girl and it turned out to be the same-sex person?

...because I just left the office to go to CVS, and I totally checked out this
person with this really long hair, and then when I walked by its face I realized it was a woman

(a very manly woman with a very manly hair too... but still)

Most recent was last night in a movie called Nightbreed. Someone was pulling their scalp out violently, and I commented "Why the hell is that lady doing that?"

It turned out to be a man. Oops.

I don't remember ever making that mistake, but I get it quite a bit. I'm used to it by now. The worst part is when people frantically apologize to me when it happens. It's like "Hey... no worries... accidents happen, just carry on" but most people continue trying to assure me they didn't mean anything by it.

The most common place this happens is when I'm waiting in line at the grocery store and a checker will come up behind me and say "Ma'am I can help you over here in this line." Their faces always go red when I turn around. It's rather laughable haha.

^ haha! aww kevin, I think most males with really nice long hair get that
at least once in their life-time if not more

Wearing black band tees and jeans usually gives you the impression that its a guy :p Although I have been mistaken before. Men tend to have broader shoulders also.

This is about the only positive aspect of going bald. Before I was old enough to grow facial hair, I was always being mistaken for a girl. Then, when I was able to rock the teen/porn 'stache, I was only mistaken as a female when viewed from behind. Since my baldness became clearly visible from any angle, I haven't had any problems (apparent gender related problems anyways).
