Go for it Lurch, get rid of that wanna be BMW.
On a track I doubt the MazdaSpeed6 will outrun the RX-8, the handling on those things is allegedly amazing. Stoplight racing could get annoying for the rotary crowd though.I've always wondered about this. As I noted when I started this thread, I drive a Mazda Speed6. It pulls 274 HP and does 0-60 in 6.22. The RX8 has 232 HP and does 0-60 in 6.4. All of this is fine and good, until you realize that the Speed6 is about $5,000 less. It seems crazy to me, to build you more expensive sports car, to be slower than your sedan.
Zod
I've never seen someone so pro-VW in my entire life, and I once knew a dude who rebuilt them in his spare time.
When the BMW 1-series hits these shores, I'm going to be VERY tempted to trade in my WRX. Same engines as the 3-series, but smaller and cheaper. How can you go wrong?
the Golf will out handle your mini with ease,
i really doubt that ... the MC has better slalom #'s than a 911
pic's or lies!
The new Mini handles pretty well, too. If you consider a faster slalom time than a 2007 Porsche 911 Turbo an achievement, that is. The Cooper S pulls this feat using the MacPherson strut front suspension of its forebear in conjunction with a new aluminum multilink rear setup, which is 13 pounds lighter than the previous design.
However, nothing NOTHING comes close to the Mazdaspeed3 in terms of power, price, and ease of maintenance.
right on ... this car is a fucking amazing achievement for the price ... I do hear it has a bit "too much" power for everyday though
When I had a Miata
All things equal, I'd buy a Mustang GT over any of the above mentioned cars.
not the case, they're made all over the place. The Touraq's are made in the Czech Republic, 5 door Golfs are made in South Africa, 3 door Golfs, r32's, passat's(i think) and Polo GTI's are German, while the Beetles and Jetta's are Mexican. At the end of the day they're all German parts and engineered so it's not a massive issue these days.
