Miscellaneous movie thread

I watched Shrek 2 a couple of days ago. I thought it was fucking funny. I assume the majority of you would have seen it already.

Anyone going to see the movie about Johnny Cash?

C'mon folks, what else have you seen of late?

I watched Mike Bassett: England Manager the other day, which was a pretty funny spoof on the English football team.

Last night watched Swimming Pool. Good film. Naked French chicks = :headbang:

Seen in the last two weeks:

* Chronicles of Narnia - OK. Could have been SO much better
* Brokeback Mountain - awesome
* Walk the Line - awesome
* Good Night, and Good Luck - awesome

Still haven't seen King Kong, never had a chance because I was travelling while it was on, and now it's only on once a day, at like 9pm or so, except for one cinema in Brisbane which still has it on mid-afternoon, and probably won't be on at that time next weekend. Breaks my heart to think I won't see this until it's out on DVD.

The only movie I have seen since Sin City last year is Keeping Mum..

Keeping Mum looks quite good from what I've read about it, Sydo. What did you think?

Good Night And Good Luck was top-notch. My next trip to the cinematheque will likely be for A History Of Violence. Messr. Cronenberg is one of my favourite directors, though I wish he still made horror films.

I'm expecting my two disc version of Serenity any day now, and continue to work myself into a lather about the Nowhere Man DVD set I started a thread about last week.

Still haven't seen Sin City (not for want of trying!). I was going to buy the DVD at the sales, but decided to hold off and wait for the special edition that's already out in the US. We'll get it here one of these centuries.

It was enjoyable, but that's about all. I wouldn't encourage anyone to rush out and see it, yet I doubt anyone would be disappointed by it.
Although I had free tickets.. it's still one of the few movies I might have paid to see so far this summer.

I saw the Sixth Sense in Brisbane at a small cinema ages after it had finished everywhere else. It was in the city, or near enough. Perhaps try there, wherever it was exactly?!

On Brokeback Mountain, I reckon chicks just like seeing Heath Ledger kissing Donny Darko.

DemonLover - a documentary on Amanda Vanstone's husband?

I just hired Undead and The Motorcycle Diaries. Should be good.

Finished watching The Motorcycle Diaries last night. What an awesome film. Anyone else seen it?

Nup, expecting to be loaned a copy soon though from a girl at work (if she ever remembers to bring it in). Read the book last month, quite good but not as angry as I expected it to be.

Maybe because his anger built over time as he saw some of the shit that was going on in that part of the world...?
