Watched 'Stay' the other night. Not bad, but not as awesome as the trailer made out. Worth my time though.
Speaking of Ewan McGregor, I watched 'The Island' last week as well. That was far better than I expected, and better than the trailer indicated. Great stuff.
I saw the DVD ending which I really liked. It was grim. I was told what happened in the cinema ending at the time, and thought it didn't sound as good.
The DVD ending is the original cinematic ending. The cinema ending for actual release was changed, because audiences felt it was too bleak. Stupid mainstream Hollywood audiences. The whole fucking film was bleak. Why shouldn't the ending be any different?
In the one I saw he ended up never being born at all, and everything turned out ok. Is that the proper, grim one? I thought it was good.
In the bonus features were a couple of other endings, where he passed the chick in the street. They were gay endings. Was one of them seriously what they showed at the cinema?
Yeah that's the proper ending. And there's a part in the film where it suggests that it's not the first (or even the second) time it's happened. That's what makes it even grimmer.
Yeah, I believe they mention his mother having had heaps of miscarriage and such before he was born, and he was the 'lucky' one, which implies that it has happened many times.
