@Oblivious Maximus: It's definitely satire for sure. And a lot of ways is a nod to absurdist and Dadaist . The crews behavior was kind of interesting actually. I didn't expect them to go along with it but I also figured in the realm of this type of film it works. It's not supposed to be an entirely truthful film. It's grossly exaggerated and absurd. I mean that scene where he kills the black guy, he's so blatantly racist and even unzips the guys pants to find out if the rumor is true. And then is disgusted by it.
But I guess in some ways maybe this movie is sorta making a comment about violence. Like many times we see it, do not step in against it, and depending on the situation might even participate in it too. That whole "flock mentality" thing. Or even what people would do just because they are being filmed even. I mean that movie was made in the 90s where reality tv started to take shape, so it wouldn't surprise me that it's a nod to documentaries/reality shows like "Cops" where it gets its viewer right in the middle of some crazy shit.
