Well... that was an experience.

I'm not sure how I felt about it, although having read the novel might be fucking with my feelings. The book was definitely more of a horror narrative; I didn't get that vibe from the film. Unsettling and weird, yes, but not quite horror.

So now that I’ve had a few days to digest this. Verotika may go down in history as one of the worst horror films ever made. Troll 2 and Birdemic level stuff if you’re a glutton for self torture.

Fake accents in a movie that’s 100% English... casting pornstars (and x-pac)

giant tits with eyeballs on a main character, no explanation except that it causes her relationship problems... a cgi spider turned into an albino Goro by one of her nipples tears (they cry when she’s sad)

albino Goro wants to rape a stripper in the ass and her response is “ass fuck is my specialty” he has no penis and just breaks her neck.

“He breaks their necks, ze have dubbed him ze neck breaka”

she falls asleep in a sex theater and gets molested. The projector in the background is a fucking box fan in front of a light.

she overdoses and calls the police. She’s laying on the floor unconscious and the police tell albino Goro to let go of her neck for some reason. She dies. The cops shoot albino Goro. He dies. No explanation to any of it.

second part is about a stripper stealing other women’s faces because hers has some not-that-bad scarring. Most of the woman just fall unconscious and allow her to cut their face off with the worlds sharpest knife. The cops even feel like they’re in the wrong film here. CGI floors because we’re too lazy to paint a pentagram looking thing on the floor. Cop shoots woman while facing and shooting in the wrong direction.

final part is some weird countess bathory shit. It just follows a woman bathing and drinking the blood of VIRGANS. Nothing else happens at all.
