The thread where you talk about non-metal music you like.

Country music is the most Redneck thing I can think of, and when I venture out of my "I'm a pretentious faux-cosmopolitan city person" hole it's really nice to go to the Cracker Barrel or something and just absorb the Americana.

A friend of mine in my town here owns a restaurant which is the most "American" place I've ever been to - everything from the vintage movie posters to the metal Coca-Cola ads and the neon "Beer" sign was imported from the States, and it's a constant aural barrage of classic country and rock & roll there.

Which brings me to the point that I really love 50s doo-wop, particularly Sha-Na-Na.

Fixed it for you.

not yet but i shall matey don't you fret
They're pretty much the reason why I almost stopped listening to Summoning.
Magma started a movement in music called zeuhl. Very strange, but compelling, in my opinion. Their rhythms are just so engaging; vocals are definitely an acquired taste. They manage to create a sort of ritualistic atmosphere through repetitive call-response chanting. I like Udu Wudu and Mekhanik Destruktiw Kommandoh the most.

I still think Udu Wudu is one of their worst, but to each his own of course. My favorite is still K.A - it's like everything that's great about MDK but with livelier performance and richer production.

Tbh the last track can get a bit tiring sometimes. It builds up to a great climax, but as far as the long-ass buildups of doom go I think their most epic ones were on Kohntarkosz.

First two songs on K.A are pure friggin' gold though.
