I'll be cutting down trees contracted to Tennessee's Electric Power Board.
Cutting down trees, brush, and throwing it into wood chippers for $12.22 an hour for my first 3 months
I can handle chainsaws but fuck I hate waking up in the morning to the sound of a wood chipper.
Yeah its gonna be new to me. Ive never done work like this before. I wont be using chainsaws right away though I dont think. Just helping the crew move brush and trees into the chippers. I'll be going all over the Chattanooga area too, so its gonna be interesting
It's a good job dude, probably some tough hours that will take some getting used to, but worth it.
In this country we are so fucking regulated you wouldn't even get a job on the team without a chainsaw ticket and safety certificates. If you have to scale the trees to cut them down you also need a ticket for that. It's not a bad thing because it stops dodgy pricks buying a chainsaw and lopping the shit out of everything but it does increase the cost to get such tradesmen to do their job.
Oh for sure. 7 AM to 5 PM but I did that when I worked at the hospital in Illinois.
I don't mean the literal hours, I mean the conditions they'll be spent in lol.
Thats fucking insane, but I understand why.
Is $12 per hour a good wage in the states? Seems pretty low.
The conditions wouldn't be so bad tbh.

Spending all day in the sun, especially if you're not used to it at first, is definitely pretty bad. Where do you work? Tradie?
